Spring 2020 Boat Preps with Health Precautions

Vento Solare 2020 preparations are progressing well through the coronavirus pandemic.  Bill was safe with a Tyvec suit and full face respirator sanding and painting the bottom.  On Friday 20 March, the work team of Erin & Gardner Howe with Mike & Cheryl Marrone practiced safe distancing as everyone maintained 10 foot separation to wax the hull. …

Vento Solare Launched – April 11th!

The long wait is over.  Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on 11 April.  We’ve been ready for over a week but had to wait for a boat getting a new engine that was blocking the travel lift.  As soon Vento Solare was launched, a quick sea trial was run to perform initial calibration on the new instruments and autohelm.  …
