Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on the afternoon of 12 April. The boat will remain at Borden Light for the next week as some last minute work is done before bringing the boat to its slip at the Navy Marina. Vento Solare has a new mast and looks like a proper sailboat again. Pat Tormey and I delivered to Hinckley on the afternoon of Wednesday 19 May in preparation for scheduled mast stepping first thing Thursday morning. When we arrived the crane crew was sitting idle waiting to step the masts on two boats that still hadn’t been moved out of the shed. …

A first in the record books for Vento Solare. We splashed on 30 March 2021 – the first time ever we’ve made a March launch date. Unfortunately the early launch date doesn’t provide immediate sailing gratification. There is still plenty of storm damage work to be done. The traditional Two-Day Series on Saturday and Sunday, for boats racing in ORC,
One-Design classes, Classics (Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker), Multihulls, PHRF Navigators
(Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker).
● Racing may consist of the following:
﹣ Drop mark races on Rhode Island Sound or Narragansett Bay;
﹣ Navigator style races using marks designated on the South Bay Race Chart or in the sailing instructions;
