Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on the afternoon of 12 April. The boat will remain at Borden Light for the next week as some last minute work is done before bringing the boat to its slip at the Navy Marina. Vento Solare has a new mast and looks like a proper sailboat again. Pat Tormey and I delivered to Hinckley on the afternoon of Wednesday 19 May in preparation for scheduled mast stepping first thing Thursday morning. When we arrived the crane crew was sitting idle waiting to step the masts on two boats that still hadn’t been moved out of the shed. …

A first in the record books for Vento Solare. We splashed on 30 March 2021 – the first time ever we’ve made a March launch date. Unfortunately the early launch date doesn’t provide immediate sailing gratification. There is still plenty of storm damage work to be done. The early launch was enabled by some warm weather windows that permitted completing the bottom repairs. …

1700 Tent Opens for NBYC Annual Regatta Party: There will also be a regatta party Saturday night for all participants with live music and an assortment of food stations! Tickets will be available for purchase when you get off the water on Saturday.
