Vento Solare Cozy for Winter 2024-25
The 2024 sailing season has drawn to an end. Just prior to the end of the season, the mast was removed and tasks completed so we could do the final Mitchell race to Block Island over Columbus weekend. Vento Solare Launched 12 April 2022!
Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on the afternoon of 12 April. The boat will remain at Borden Light for the next week as some last minute work is done before bringing the boat to its slip at the Navy Marina. Approaching End of Season
The 2021 season was a little strange with a late start due to the damage from the March wind storm, followed later in the season with my bone headed move hitting a rock during the EGYC Annual regatta. Fortunately, all was fixed and we were able to sail most events.

The dockmaster at the Seaport Museum is Greg Zabel. Greg and team monitor VHF 71 and will guide arrivals to their assigned location. Extensive visitor facilities and dock infrastructure like power and water are available at the Seaport Museum and will be reviewed upon arrival.

Twenty Hundred Club 80th Anniversary Race to Mystic
Buster meet Sue @ 0745 by Pass & ID lot to ride in with them. Bill will meet you on the causeway so you may drive on base.
Those staying on the boat bring towel and blanket or sleeping bag. We'll be on the dock with the dodger, shore power and the heater. There are shower facilities and bathrooms on the dock. Accommodations for the weekend:
- Sue - V-Berth
- Roland - main cabin
- Bill & Cindy - aft cabin
- Sarah & Buster - not staying overnight on boat
More info about the weekend:
- I'll have Friday lunch available for all on the boat. Plan on the rest of the meals while on the dock in town. I'll have sandwiches for the trip back Monday. There will be some libations available on the boat.

- 2:00pm Guided Tour - meet at the Masin & Clary deck
- 4:00pm Cocktails on the on the Masin & Clary deck
- 5:00pm Mystic Summer BBQ on the Masin & Clary deck- think elevated BBQ (salads, sirloin burgers, all beef hot dogs, ribs, and BBQ sides, and dessert) and access to a cash bar.
