Vento Solare Launched – March 2021!
A first in the record books for Vento Solare. We splashed on 30 March 2021 – the first time ever we’ve made a March launch date. Unfortunately the early launch date doesn’t provide immediate sailing gratification. There is still plenty of storm damage work to be done. The early launch was enabled by some warm weather windows that permitted completing the bottom repairs. …

March Comes in like a Lion with some damage
Borden Light Marina called me at 10:30 on March 2nd to let me know that Vento Solare had rolled off the stands during the ongoing wind storm we’re having. I went to the marina and took some pictures. After the wind subsides, they will move the crane and trailer to put the boat back on the stands. …

Vento Solare entered the final JYC summer series race with a third place standing. Weather at the start had winds 8-12 out of the West. Thank you for a great time. That hour penelty seems steep. If you look at yellow brick there were a few other boats in our class that were just inside that south east dot. Not sure how picky they were being.
Either way great work by everyone. Enjoy the party.
Bill went to the protest hearing about our sailing in the exclusion zone to fix the spinnaker. The results of the protest was the RC added 1 hour to our corrected time. This put us in 2nd place for the youth entries. We would have had 1st in youth if not for this. Hope to see you all at the awards ceremony!
