Vento Solare Cozy for Winter 2024-25
The 2024 sailing season has drawn to an end. Just prior to the end of the season, the mast was removed and tasks completed so we could do the final Mitchell race to Block Island over Columbus weekend. Some pending mast chores completed include replacing the VHF antenna, run new wind sensor cable, replace a broken spinnaker sheave, …

Vento Solare Launched 12 April 2022!
Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on the afternoon of 12 April. The boat will remain at Borden Light for the next week as some last minute work is done before bringing the boat to its slip at the Navy Marina. I want to thank all those who helped get the tasks done so we could launch. …

Approaching End of Season
The 2021 season was a little strange with a late start due to the damage from the March wind storm, followed later in the season with my bone headed move hitting a rock during the EGYC Annual regatta. Fortunately, all was fixed and we were able to sail most events.
Last weekend we completed the Conanicut ATI race. …

- Replace winter halyards
- Flush / Fill potable water tank
- Wax hull & Teflon coat, buff out
- Wax topside surfaces
- General boat inspection - make punch list for items needed to be done
Bill will bring beer, Murphy's oil soap, rags, vacuum (already on boat)
- Declutter interior (tools, etc.)
- Vacuum interior
- Wipe down all interior surfaces with Murphy's oil soap
- Complete wax hull & Teflon coat if not finished
- Wax topside surfaces if not finished
- Polish topside stainless
- Tape lifelines
- Set rig & label turnbuckles
- Make new labels for topside as needed
- Put equipment on aft rail
