Vento Solare is finally launched!  Normally this is just a check in the box but this year a major milestone.  The week prior to Easter I felt miserable and had no energy.  After a couple of calls to the doctor on separate days, I went to the Emergency room at Newport Hospital on Friday and  ended up spending 5 days over Easter in the ICU being treated for pneumonia.  …

Vento Solare Launched 12 April 2022!

Vento Solare was launched at Borden Light Marina on the afternoon of 12 April.  The boat will remain at Borden Light for the next week as some last minute work is done before bringing the boat to its slip at the Navy Marina.  I want to thank all those who helped get the tasks done so we could launch.  …

Vento Solare New Mast Finally Installed

Vento Solare has a new mast and looks like a proper sailboat again.  Pat Tormey and I delivered to Hinckley on the afternoon of  Wednesday 19 May in preparation for scheduled mast stepping first thing Thursday morning.  When we arrived the crane crew was sitting idle waiting to step the masts on two boats that still hadn’t been moved out of the shed.  …
