This email just in from NYYC postpones the regatta again until the end of September.  Standby for future updates.

    Dear 166th Annual Participant,

As many of you are aware, recent restrictions placed on visitors to Rhode Island require quarantining upon returning to NY, MA, NJ, and CT. This change, combined with the already existing quarantine requirements for 33 states upon arrival to Rhode Island, have made it impossible to run the Annual Regatta at the end of August. We are uncertain when these restrictions will be lifted and feel it is better to combine the Annual Regatta with Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex on September 23-26. Please stand by for a more detailed email that will be sent by the end of the week that will provide information on what the event will look like.

We appreciate everyone’s continued flexibility and patience as we navigate this challenging season.

    Best,
    Lynn

    166th Annual Regatta

    Bulletin #3 – October 1, 2020

    RACE DOCS AND SCRATCH SHEETS
Amendment 1 to the Sailing Instructions has been posted. After reviewing the wind forecasts, the first warning signals for tomorrow have been delayed. The White and Red Circles are scheduled for first warning signals at 1200. The Blue Circle – Around-the-Island – is scheduled for a first warning signal at 1300. The 0900 announcement on VHF 72 tomorrow will include rendezvous locations and the order of starts for the ATI.

Final scratch sheets for Friday and Sat/Sun have been posted.

    SAFETY REMINDERS
Please remember to follow all COVID-19 safety regulations at all times, including wearing your mask while on the docks at Fort Adams.

    WAIVERS
All competitors must complete both the Waiver and Release of Liability and the COVID-19 Release. A boat’s entry is not considered complete and they will not be scored until these are submitted for all crew.

    REGISTRATION
If you did not pick up your registration packet today, contact the Sailing Office. Please do not stop by the Sailing Center or Sailing Office to try and pick it up.

    ACCESS TO HARBOUR COURT
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no social activities at Harbour Court.

Please note that access to Harbour Court is restricted to members, or guests accompanied by members, that have dining reservations or are using the launch for transport to an NYYC or private mooring in the mooring field. No boats can come to the NYYC docks to pick up crew. We know this may pose some logistical challenges and appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

For those of you using the launch, please gather your entire crew to limit the number of trips to your boat to one. The launch is limited to 6 riders so the more efficiently we can get people to their boats, the better it will be for everyone.

To schedule a dining reservation, contact the Quartermaster at 401.846.1000.
