Homework Assignment: Please review this presentation on using the instruments – J/109 Vento Solare Crew Training for B&G Instruments

Please be at the dock on time to stow gear and a quick brief so we can be out on the water at 5:15pm.  

Those needing a ride on base please meet 7:45 am at the Pass & ID parking lot to be driven on base. If you arrive a few minutes early call Bill so I can meet you to on the causeway to drive on base

Walk through settings on dock, then leave dock @ 5:15pm sharp.
–Practice upwind settings, tacks, calling wind and shifts, crew communications, jib trim and inhaul settings
–Spinnaker sets, jybes, downwind settings, crew communications
–Dust off the cob webs and instruct new crew on Vento Solare race routine and instruments

This message is to let everyone know that I will have a familiarization sail on J/109 Vento Solare this Thursday.  Boat call time is 5pm.  The boat is located in slip A-49 at the Navy Marina. 
 
We will have a quick boat familiarization at the dock, then will go out and run through some evolutions upwind with the jib and downwind with the spinnaker. For this practice we will not rig jacklines, but I do expect all to wear PFDs.
 

I will try and arrange some of my regular crew to help coach and should know if I need additional assistance from either Coop or Anselm. I expect this to complete no later than 7pm back at the dock. Please feel free to email, call or text with any questions.

This message is to let everyone know that I will have a familiarization sail on J/109 Vento Solare Wednesday.  Boat call time is 5pm.  The boat is located in slip A-49 at the Navy Marina.  I know that the Richards have base access for the family. 
 
Please meet 4:45pm at the Navy Base Pass & ID parking lot 1377 Cloyne Ct, Newport, RI 02840.  This is on the right just before the causeway by the main gate.  Someone will drive people without access on base.
 
Everyone will join and we will go out and run through some evolutions upwind with the jib and downwind with the spinnaker. For this practice we will not rig jacklines, but I do expect all to wear PFDs.
 

I expect this to complete no later than 7pm back at the dock. Please feel free to email, call or text with any questions.
