Pursuit race to BI – non spinnaker.
Those needing a ride on base please meet 7:45 am at the Pass & ID parking lot to be driven on base. If you arrive a few minutes early call Bill so I can meet you to on the causeway to drive on base
Staying at Payne's Dock.
- Sarah & Sue– responsible for Appetizer Contest!
- Bill– responsible for Brocktail Contest & Snacks for boat
- Bill will have beverages and stuff for breakfast (yogurt, granola, hard boiled eggs, coffee).
- Lisa – bring lunch for Saturday.
- Bill brings fender board, long dock lines, shore power cable, cocktail table and dodger.
Friday
- 6:00pm Skippers Meeting – Get official start times and sailing instructions
Saturday
- 9:00am Start – Newport. The first boat will start at 9:00am, and the rest will follow based on handicap.
- noon – sandwiches on boat
- 6:00pm Finish – New Harbor, Block Island – If you can't finish by 6:00pm give up, turn on your engine and come in for beer.
- 6:30pm Dinner – We will eat in town.
Sunday
- Breakfast stuff available on boat
- 10:00am Brocktail Contest – Brunch cocktails, broadened beyond the Bloody Mary. Bring your own concoction.
- 12:00pm Hors d'oeuvres and Costume Contest – On the dock. Be ready to present your best hors d'oeuvres for judging in taste and presentation. Partaking requires participation! Wear your best costume for a contest with a kid-friendly prize
- 1:00pm Awards – On the dock.
- Depart for Navy Marina immediately after awards

Mike, Lucas and all, if you want a ride with me to base Saturday morning because you are taking the ferry back Saturday eve, please be at my house NLT 7:30 am or earlier so that we can get over to Pass & ID to pick up others who need to get on base with us.
I’m bringing a variety of sandwiches (a veggie and cheese one for Sarah) and there are chips and seltzers on the boat.

A very successful Mitchell Race weekend. The race out was challenging with the dying winds and current. We were 2nd to last boat to start and at one point passed all the boats in our class, only to have the wind die and race restart with light and shifty winds. We ended up 3rd place in class.
