Vento Solare splashed on 12 April 2018 as the first sailboat launched in the new travel lift at Borden Light Marina. The boat is tied up at dock D32, accessible from the dock entrance through the clubhouse located north of the travel lift. Thanks to the support of Team AWOL, Mike and Cheryl Marrone made the hull bright and shiny the day before launching. Additional thanks go to Sam Goldblatt who helped with some projects over the winter. View additional pictures and a video of the launching with the new travel lift on the photo page.
There are a few other items that will be completed at the dock, then Vento Solare will be ready to sail after the weekend. We need to go up the mast and run the main halyard through the mast crane before raising any sails. Compass and speed transducer calibration will be complete on Friday. Let's go sailing!
